Murray-Darling fix to be accelerated
26 Nov 2007

There is hope that the new Labor government will be able to resolve the impasse with the Victorian state government over the $10 billion Murray-Darling Basin plan. One water industry insider said that the goodwill is there but we will have to see if they are smart enough to be able to pull it off. Labor will bring forward $400 million of the funds available under the plan so that water savings can be achieved more quickly.
