Pulse strong for farmers
8 Jan 2008

South Australian farmers have received an unexpected boost with lentils now fetching up to $800 per tonne. However in a similar situation to many growers the crop this year is relatively small at 60,000 tonnes. High demand for lentils along with poor crops in Turkey and Canada have helped to push prices to record highs.
