Fruit flies found in Adelaide
31 Jan 2008

Fruit flies have been found in Adelaide for the first time in almost two years. Larvae has been discovered in nectarines grown at a home in Dawes Park and follows the detection of larvae in a garden at Ceduna last month. A 1.5 kilometre quarantine area has been declared which covers Daw Park, Colonel Light Gardens, Melrose Park, Clarence Gardens, Westbourne Park and Lower Mitcham. Residents have been urged not to remove any fresh fruit, vegetables or garden waste from the area.
