NFF tells ACCC to get on with it 2 May 2008
Farmers and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission are trading blows over who should be gathering evidence for an inquiry into grocery prices. Commission chairman Graeme Samuels said that farmers had failed to provide evidence that they were being ripped off by supermarkets while NFF president David Crombie said that the regulator should do its own work. "It's the ACCC's job to use its full investigative powers to examine what's happening in the supply chain, we can't be expected to gift-wrap it for the ACCC," said Mr Crombie.
