Apples get makeover with new varieties 7 May 2008
Two new apple varieties are being introduced to the Australian Market. Last week saw the release of 'Enchanted' whose flesh does not go brown for several hours after being exposed to air, developed by the West Australian Department of Agriculture and Food. The other is a braeburn-royal gala cross called Jazz which has been in development for eight years. Jazz has been described as a "superbly sweet, tangy apple with a crisp texture" by a spokesman for Montague Fresh which created the new variety.
