Government vegie grants misdirected
10 Sep 2008

Industry group Horticulture Australia Limited misdirected vegetable levy funds a government review has found. The review, ordered by the previous federal government, found that Horticulture Australia failed to invest the vegetable levy into three key areas of the vegetable industry''''s strategic plan. Horticulture Australia also failed to properly asses projects that it funded and failed to measure whether the projects met their aims and objectives. The review also found that there was a lack of transparency and objectivity in deciding which projects won levy funding.
