Australian livestock producers have welcomed a decision by New Zealand and Australian insurance agency, Agricola, to offer foot and mouth disease insurance. The first of its type in Australia, this policy will allow producers to insure themselves for loss of income from forced livestock slaughter and quarantine restrictions.
