Wanted: farmers to spend $21,000 16 Jun 2004
Entries for 13 Nuffield travel scholarships for farmers, worth $21,000 each, close on June 25. The scholarships are for overseas study and enable young farmers to expand their horizons and explore global agricultural opportunities. Scholarships for 2004 are available for: a grain grower in northern NSW or Queensland, a grain grower in southern NSW, Victoria, South Australia or Tasmania, and a grain grower in Western Australia; two primary producers to study new and emerging industries; a wool producer; a livestock producer; a fruit or vegetable grower; a primary producer in South Australia; a primary producer to study natural resource management; and a primary producer, supported by Landmark.
The winners will leave Australia in either February or June 2005 and join other scholarship winners from around the world for a six-week group study program. They will then begin specific study programs in the countries of their choice.
