Storms a mixed blessing for farmers
15 Dec 2004

Storms across southern Australia over the last week have damaged fruit crops across northern Victoria and ruined many grain crops in Victoria and southern New South Wales close to harvesting. The quality and yield on unharvested cereal crops is likely to be lower than farmers were hoping. One result of the rain is that livestock prices are predicted to stay strong following heavy falls in northern NSW pastoral areas.
