Cattle Council primed for an export record 11 Jan 2005
The Cattle Council said that it expected beef exports in 2005 to exceed the 2004 record of $4 billion, with Japan the primary destination. The Cattle Council said that even though US beef producers were now eligible to sell their meat into Japan after the lifting of a temporary ban, they did not expect significant volumes of US beef to enter the Japanese market until the second half of the year.
