Poultry producers dump GM feed
11 Feb 2005

Three of the largest poultry producers will stop feeding genetically modified soyabeans to their chickens. Inghams, Bartter Steggles and Baiada produce about 80 per cent of the 400 million chickens eaten in the country each year. Imported soyabeans, most of which are now genetically modified or are not kept separate from GM grain, are estimated to make up about 15 per cent of chicken rations.
