Sheepmeat levy unchanged

The Sheepmeat Council of Australia recommended to the sheep industry that the sheep and lamb transaction levy remains unchanged. The current sheep and lamb levy is charged at two per cent of the sale price and is capped at 20 cents for sheep and $1.50 for lambs. Sheep producer levies fund marketing and R&D activities at Meat & Livestock Australia, animal health programs at Animal Health Australia and chemical residue testing at the Australian National Residue Survey.
