News next week on wasting disorder scare 15 Jul 2005
Pork producers have to wait at least a week to find out whether the untreatable post-weaning multi-systemic wasting disorder has been found in two pig herds - one of them in South Australia. The SA piggery and another in New South Wales were last week confirmed to be under investigation for PMWS, a potentially fatal illness not previously found in Australia. The piggeries are now in quarantine.
