EG Green may resume trading next week
22 Aug 2005

The board of Western Australian meat processing company EG Green and Sons appointed Martin Jones of Ferrier Hodgson as administrators of the company on Friday, a week after the company suspended operations for two weeks. Greens owes National Australia Bank $20 million and unsecured creditors around $24 million. The administrator said he believed the abattoir had the cash flow to fund itself and the backlog in the beef industry caused by the closure to clear quickly once the abattoir was re-opened. He could not guarantee all staff would keep their jobs.
