McGauran feral over breakaway wool growers
25 Aug 2005

Federal agriculture minister Peter McGauran attacked the Australian Wool Growers Association for signing an agreement with a controversial animal rights group. McGauran said it was "unwise in the extreme" to enter an agreement with the group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The agreement, which is yet to be signed off by growers, committed the industry to end the controversial practice of sheep mulesing by 2010.
