7 Sep 2005

Meat & Livestock Australia said dry conditions were hampering the breeding of more lambs. Restricting lamb supply into the new year. MLA said the number of lambs slaughtered in 2004/05 increased by five per cent to 17 million head, the first increase since a slump that followed the peak year of 2000/2001. MLA said lamb supply was likely to decline from summer into next autumn.
