Live sheep export trade back in business
9 Sep 2005

Live sheep carriers are expected to call at major ports to pick up livestock every four to six weeks between now and Christmas, according to SAMEX livestock analysts Samex. The firm suggest that selling wethers to the live sheep trade may be more lucrative than finishing prime lambs this year. The firm forecasts prices of between $57 and $68 for young and old wethers above 47 kilograms until at least the end of the year.
