Lamb producers make higher profits
21 Sep 2005

The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics said prime lamb producers earned an average farm cash income in 2004/05 of $61,700, 18 per cent more than the year before. Lamb producers earned higher incomes came even though prices for lambs were down. The 2002-03 drought cut the national sheep flock to less than 100 million, the smallest Australian flock in half a century.
