Victorian Government chips in to help farmers
25 Jan 2006

Fires in Victoria have destroyed 16,000 hectares of pasture and 330,000 hay bales across Victoria and the Premier Steve Bracks has announced a $100,000 package to assist with transporting feed to affected farmers. Technical teams have also been deployed to advise farmers on animal welfare, stock management, feed and regrowing pasture. Mr Bracks said the DPI and the VFF would investigate the need for further assistance.
