Livestock market improves
3 Feb 2006

Cattle and Sheep volumes and prices were up this week at saleyards around the country. The cattle benchmark EYCI increased a further 7.25 cents from last week’s improved level, to 359¢/kg on Tuesday. All major grades were up this week as demand and confidence returned to the market. Sheep prices maintained their high prices from last week, whilst lambs for restockers were slightly cheaper.
