Bird Flu not here yet
24 Feb 2006

The avian flu virus H5N1 has not yet reached Australia said a leading scientist from the Australian Biosecurity Co-operative Research Centre. Extensive testing of wild and dead birds had not yet detected it said Professor Aileen Plant. The Chief vet in NSW said that the birds carrying the disease overseas, ducks and geese, do not migrate to and from Australia.
