Farm dam licences may be needed in Victoria
2 Mar 2006

The Department of Sustainability and Environment in Victoria said the state government is looking at restricting the construction of new stock and domestic dams. At last week's Australian Water Summit, DSE said unregulated catchment dams were "popping up all over our country". In the Geelong region alone "51 billion litres of water" was held in small dams.
