Beef exports get promotional help
17 Mar 2006

The beef industry will spend $14 million on promotional activities in Japan in 2006-2007, up from $7 million last year. ABARE predicted last month that beef sales to Japan will drop 100,000 tonnes by 2010 to 300,000 tonnes per year as the US re-entered the market following mad cow problems. Beef exports to Malaysia will resume next month after the muslim nation relaxed its rules on humane slaughter.
