Two abattoirs credentialed for Malay beef trade
13 Apr 2006

Malaysia will allow beef imports from Australia following resolution of a dispute over the slaughter practices for halal animals. Two abattoirs, Tasman Meats, at Brooklyn, and Norvic, at Wodonga, have had their slaughter methods approved by the Malaysian Government for the supply of Halal beef and offal. Malaysia buys between 5000-6000 tonnes of beef from Australian producers each year.
