EC drought support extended in SE Queensland
21 Apr 2006

Eligible farmers in Queensland’s North West Ashy Downs, Central Mid-west, Emerald-Bauhinia and Mackay-Whitsunday regions have had their Exceptional Circumstances (EC) drought support extended until after the next main growing season. Beef and dairy producers in Mackay-Whitsunday, and all producers in North West Ashy Downs, Central Mid-West (excluding cotton and horticulture) and Emerald-Bauhinia will now receive EC Interest Rate Subsides (ECIRS) and EC Relief Payments (ECRP) until April 2007 said Agriculture Minister Peter McGauran.
