Farmers as thirsty as their crops in northern Victoria
21 Jun 2006

Farmers in northern Victoria are running out of drinking water. Farmers in the Campaspe, Loddon and Mt Alexander shires have resorted to using dam water to flush toilets, do their washing and bathe, and are trucking in water for their families and stock to drink. The last rain to fall in the area was in early May. Many farmers sowed dry crops eight weeks ago.
