NLIS funding to cut tag prices

The cost of cattle ear tags is set to fall as $5.3 million in Australian Government funding begins to flow for rollout of the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) in Queensland. Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Peter McGauran, expects the funding to cut between 70 cents and $1 dollar off the cost of tags.
