Wool and prime lamb production in decline 24 Aug 2006
A survey by Meat and Livestock Australia found the rate of Merino ewes rejoined to Merino rams fell this year to 61 per cent, under the level of 65 per cent required to sustain both prime lamb and wool production. Last year the rate was 64 per cent. MLA said the decline would result in fewer sheep for both wool and prime lamb production.
