Cereal crops suffer from dry winter
6 Sep 2006

The dry winter has caused the South Australian government to downgrade the estimated cereal crop by nearly a third from 6.6 billion tonnes to 4.7 billion tonnes. In the north-west of NSW, farmers are reporting failed winter cereal crops and have turned sheep and cattle into the paddocks to salvage what is left after a dry winter.
