Sheep flocks reduced 20 Sep 2006
Sale of sheep at saleyards in southern Australia is 80 per cent higher than a year ago, as producers have flooded markets with more than 200,000 head in the past week. Severe dry conditions and lack of feed and water have forced many producers to reduce stock. The price for hoggets fell $20 a head, and fell $10 a head for lambs, and a similar amount for mutton sheep.
