Aussie beef wins in Korea 20 Dec 2006
An Australian meat product has been named the best food and beverage brand in South Korea for the third consecutive year. Meat and Livestock Australia markets its beef under the brand name “Hoju Chungjung Woo”, which roughly translates as “clean and safe Australia beef”. The Hoju Chungjung Woo brand was first launched in South Korea in 2002 and currently holds a 75 per cent share of the imported beef section, worth $A661 million per annum. In 2005/06 South Korea imported 121,271 tonnes of beef from Australia.
