Sheep cruelty trial starts
6 Feb 2007

Sheep exporting company Emanuel Exports and two of its directors, Michael Stanton and Graham Daws, went on trial in the Perth Magistrate’s Court yesterday accused of several animal cruelty charges. The charges relate to a shipment of sheep from Fremantle to the Middle East in 2003. Yesterday the court heard that the company put sheep at increased risk of starvation and disease when it transported them on an overcrowded vessel with inadequate food supplies.
