Confused cow chomps up chooks
9 Mar 2007

An Indian man has discovered his cow eating up several chickens a night. Ajit Ghosh kept a vigil in his combined hen and cow shed one night after 48 chickens when missing in one month, thinking that neighbourhood dogs were to blame. "We were shocked to see our calf eating chickens alive," Mr Ghosh said. The cow named Lal is a scared animal for the Hindu family. Local vets are running tests to find out what caused the cow’s behaviour and have said that the cow was probably suffering from a disease but others in the village say that Lal was a tiger in a previous life.
