Northern Territory assistance approved
27 Mar 2007

Although rain has fallen for the first time in years in parts of central Australia graziers in the area are now eligible for drought assistance. Over 30 properties have only now been granted access to the financial assistance despite experiencing 4 years of dry weather. Areas in the Northern Territory had missed out previously as the area's natural state was deemed to be drought but now the Government has recognised that it is suitable for cattle grazing and drought was less common than had been assumed.
