Drought drives beef exports
11 Jul 2007

Records have been achieved in the meat export industry in the 2006-07 financial year due to producers selling off breeding stock to get through the drought. Beef exports from Australia reached an all time high of 973,800 tonnes which was up 9 per cent on the previous year. Lamb exports were also up with an increase of 5 per cent on 2005-06 levels.
