Young lambs hit market early
16 Aug 2007

A lack of rainfall in parts of Victoria and southern NSW has brought forward the arrival of suckers on the market. Producers are looking to get out of the market early resulting in 13,000 new season lambs at saleyards last week, up from 4,000 two weeks earlier. Weather conditions are poor in South Australia too where 58,734 lambs were yarded last week, including a large number of suckers and was double the number yarded the week before.
