Racing may restart before end of year
3 Oct 2007

Horse racing in southeast Queensland may be allowed again as soon as early December. Queensland Racing's chairman, Bob Bentley, said that a plan was being worked out with official from the Department of Primary Industries, but that Queensland will not be rushing it decision when to recommence racing. Following suggestions that NSW could hold its first meeting at Rosehill on 20 October Mr Bentley said "Anybody who thinks they will have a horse population and be back to normal in the first few weeks of October are kidding themselves. We'll do our own thing in Queensland in the best interests of trainers and the horse population."
