Mixed farmers make the most of hard times 9 Jul 2008
Australia''s mixed farmers have increased profitability of their operations by about 9 per cent over the last five years, despite drought and difficult conditions according to research by the Grain and Graze project. Forty per cent of producers in Murrumbidgee region now graze their cereals, with reported profits lifting up to 19 per cent as a result. Grain & Graze program is jointly funded by Meat & Livestock Australia, Australian Wool Innovation, the Grains Research & Development Corporation and Land & Water Australia.
