Agricultural land is the new gold
28 Jul 2008

Agriculture is the new gold says the chairman of Celtic Resources in London. Celtic will spend $100 million buying distressed goat country and cropping farms in Australia as part of a global investment strategy worth $300 million. Celtic has sold all mining assets to focus on agricultural land holdings which will be held by Global Farming Ltd and listed on the British Alternative Investment Market. Other mining and corporate interests are also buying into agricultural land, pushing up prices and bringing funds for improvements.
