Lamb prices down from highs
29 Jul 2008

Lamb prices have slipped between 10 and 22 cents per kg cwt from last week''s highs due to higher dollar affecting demand as well as colder weather affecting quality. Heavy lamb prices were particularly affected. Victoria has been the least affected but prices have dropped in all states on the back of weak demand from processors. In South Australia prices dropped 48 cents. Bendigo recorded the highest average prices at 500 cents while the cheapest were at Midlands in WA at 386 cents kg cwt.
