Moving shop to Ballarat pays off
20 Nov 2003

The Victorian Treasurer, on behalf of the Ballarat City Council, will unveil the Business Eureka Pack today. The package is aiming to attract 80 businesses and their employees to the city with $22,000 of incentives each.

The Business Eureka Pack is coupled with the BCC's My Choice program: new residents are each given up to $10,000 worth of incentives from more than 70 local businesses, including hairdressers, sporting clubs, restaurants, and other retailers.

Business Ballarat spokesman David Keenan said Ballarat's objective is to become Victoria's premier regional city. The town's attractions are helped by its proximity to Melbourne, Bendigo and Geelong, cheap rents, two universities and skilled labour.

Herald Sun, 20/11/03, page 7.
