Aboriginal art sales questioned
21 Feb 2007

An increasing amount of Aboriginal art being sold in souvenir shops across Australia are in most cases fraudulent a Northern Territory Government committee has found. Aboriginal leaders have attacked private art dealers for taking advantage of aboriginal artists and paying them with drugs, alcohol and second hand cars. The committee has considered the need to protect and in cases aunthenticate the industry for future long term stability.
