Level 7 water restrictions for Kingaroy
11 Sep 2007

Residents in Kingaroy in Queensland's Darling Downs face level 7 water restrictions as their Gordonbrook dam runs dry. Construction has begun on a pipeline that will be able to deliver 3 million litres a day from another dam. If their backup supply Storm King Dam also runs dry the 5,000 people on town water will have to survive on carted water which would require around 20 truckloads a day until the pipeline is complete. Level 7 water restrictions mean that there is a ban on outdoor watering and the topping up of swimming pools.
