Goulburn dam relieved
19 Dec 2007

After three years of the tightest water restrictions in the country the dams around Goulburn are more than half full. Level 5 water restrictions meant that residents were limited to 150 litres per day but the community actually went closer to only 100 litres for each person. To ensure that the situation doesn't get so tight in future droughts an emergency pipeline to Sydney's water supply is being considered as is indirect potable recycling. For now, residents are enjoying the prospect of being able to grow their own vegetables for the first time in six years.
