Some water rate increases exceed NSW cap
12 Sep 2005

The NSW Farmers' Association said some local councils in New South Wales were increasing farmland rates by more than the cap of 20 per cent. Rural councils are free to increase farmland rates by up to 20 per cent a year for the next five years. NSW Farmers said some local councils exceeded this cap, but the association did not say which councils were at fault.
