Broadacre property rises strongly in SA and WA
7 Feb 2006

The Australian Rural Property Index report compiled by Elders found the value of broadacre property sales increased by 84 per cent over three years, from $4.7 billion in 2001/02 to $8.6 billion in 2004/05. Elders said price rises were most pronounced in pastoral and cropping properties. Average sale prices increased by 66 per cent in Western Australia and 82 per cent in South Australia. Price rises were also robust in New South Wales, at 36 per cent over three years, and in Queensland, at 37 per cent. There was virtually no change in the average sale price for broadacre property in Victoria.
