North Queensland land values rocket
28 Feb 2006

Revaluation of rural property in north Queensland shires shows some land values increased by a factor of between three and seven times over five years. The land valuations showed Burke in north Queensland had experienced one of the steepest rises, with property values gaining up to 754 per cent. Winton, Boulia, Barcoo, Flinders, Mckinlay and Bulloo were among the shires where valuations rose by more than 300 per cent, and more than half of the shires had rises of more than 100 per cent.
