SA rural confidence rising 6 Jun 2006
National Australia Bank said lending to rural-based South Australian businesses, other than farming enterprises, increased by 20 per cent. The bank interprets this demand as a sign that business confidence in regional towns is rising in inland SA. Low rainfall and difficulties in the winegrape industry have caused concern in some communities. However, growth in SA regional centres and the expansion of mining activity in northern SA have laid the foundation for business development.
