Kiwi dairy farmers driving up land prices
28 Aug 2006

New Zealand dairy farmers rather than promoters of managed investment schemes are the most pervasive factor driving up prices for prime rural land at present. The minister for forestry and conservation, Eric Abetz, told the ABARE Regional Outlook Conference that concerns from some sections of the farming community that the 12-month rule for MIS plantations is driving up land prices and presents an "unfair" advantage to tree farms lacked merit.

Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, 28/08/06
