No distressed farm sales yet
16 Oct 2006

Real estate agents say there is no evidence yet of distressed sales by farmers due to the drought. Listings may be higher than usual for spring, and inquiry levels are sound, agents say. Agents also note ABARE estimates that farm debt levels overall are 20 per cent, meaning that farmers’ equity is high and that many farms have an ability to absorb more debt to trade on through the drought.
